UW-WC Math Students Compete in Face Off!

recently competed as Team Descartes in Face Off! Math competition at UW-Milwaukee.

Three students from UW-Washington County participated in Face Off! Mathematical Competition on April 21 at UW-Milwaukee. Face Off! is a mathematics quiz show with questions from the broad realm of mathematics. The contest is open to college students enrolled in Calculus I.
The program was organized as a part of the Mathematical Association of America-Wisconsin Section meeting. Other campuses competing included UW-Milwaukee, UW-Whitewater, UW-Platteville, Lakeland College, St. Norbert College, Carthage College and UW-Marathon County.
This is the first time that students from UW-WC participated in the Math Face Off! Competition.

The UW-WC participants included Amber Lance, Brandon Lampi and Collin Gundrum. Each team of 2-4 students plays as a famous mathematician. The UW-WC team name was Descartes. They were awarded with a one year subscription of mathematics software Mathematica.
UW-WC Math professors, Mohan Thapa and Deepak Basyal, were instrumental in registering and taking students to this math event.
