By West Bend News

Wisconsin’s favorite storyteller, John McGivern will be sharing his personal and funny winter stories with a special performance at UW-Washington County (UW-WC) on Friday, January 31 at 7:30pm in the campus theatre. Best known for his Emmy-award winning work on PBS, his one-man shows tell the stories of being the third born of six kids in a working-class Irish Catholic family in the Midwest. His stories, both touching and familiar, remind us all that as specific as we might believe our experiences are, we all share a universal human experience.

John’s popular weekly series, Around the Corner with John McGivern is beginning its third season on all PBS stations in Wisconsin. He has been the keynote speaker for The Alliance for Children and Families, The State Department on Aging, The Children and Family Service Agency of Wisconsin, Christ Child Association and has also entertained companies such as Time Warner, Northwestern Mutual, Kohl’s Department Stores and Baird.

Tickets for Friday’s performance at UW-WC are no longer available – it is sold out, with a waiting list.

The University is located at 400 University Drive in West Bend.  The theatre is located on the second floor of the campus. Free parking is available. For more information, visit the campus website at
