Fiddler on the Roof Auditions

Spotlight Productions to present at UW-WC this fall
By UW-Washington County

Auditions for Fiddler on the Roof will take place Tuesday, August 5 and Wednesday, August 6, beginning at 7pm in the lower level of the Mutual Mall (1043 S. Main Street, West Bend). A well-respected musical masterpiece, Fiddler on the Roof will be performed on UW-Washington County’s stage this fall through a special arrangement with Spotlight Productions Community Theatre. Roles are available for adults and children (ages 10 and up). Families are encouraged to audition together. Audition materials will be provided and no experience is necessary.

Six performance dates are scheduled over two weekends, including Friday and Saturday, October 17-18 and 24-25 at 7:30pm and Sunday, October 19 and 26 at 2pm. Jackie Maynard will direct the fall production and she was also involved in the first production of Fiddler on the Roof at UW-WC, in the late 1980s.

The play is filled with the timeless songs we know and love, including “Tradition,” “Matchmaker-Matchmaker,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” and “Sunrise, Sunset.” Based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, with permission of Arnold Perl, Fiddler on the Roof has captured our hearts with its warmth, humor and honesty.
