These awards double the pleasure

UW-WC employees Bonnie Eiring and Mark Robson were recently awarded for their work in the UW College System.

The "Chancellor's Performance Plus Award for Support Staff" is an award given to three people that work in one of three areas in the UW College System's 13 campuses: Administrative/Business/Financial; Maintenance; and Information Systems/Library/Technical.

"Having two of our wonderful staff members get these awards really confirms the high quality assistance that we give to students," said Martha Nelson, the Assistant Campus Dean of Student Services at UW-WC.

This award looks at four areas of performance: promotion of excellence, job behavior, innovation and outside service.

Eiring believes that what sets her apart from her peers is her length of service. She started out at UW-WC in 1973, and then transferred to UW-Fond du Lac. In 2005, she came back to UW-WC.

Not only did Eiring receive the Chancellor's Award, but she was also recognized as the UW Colleges Student Services Outstanding Classified Staff Member of the Year.

Eiring's favorite part of her job is being able to work with the students and so many other different people.

"Receiving this award is a positive acknowledgement of my attempts to assist students in the pursuit of their education," she said.

Robson began his career at UW-WC in 2002. He is a network administrator for UW-WC's information technology department.

He was nominated for this award because of his leadership in the technological world and advancements in network monitoring and networking within the UW Colleges computer system.

"Bonnie and Mark are special because they go beyond normal job expectations - they are both willing to be innovative and to create procedures and services that are used here on our campus and across the UW Colleges," Nelson said.

Each recipient of the award receives a plaque, and the campus will receive funds to recognize the employees.

"Both Bonnie and Mark are very deserving of the recognition they are receiving. They are wonderful professionals and have the best interests of students in mind," Nelson said.
