About Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges offering associate programs. Founded in 1918 by two-year college presidents in Missouri, Phi Theta Kappa celebrated its 75th anniversary in 1993. In 75 years, Phi Theta Kappa has grown from a small organization serving private women's colleges in one state, to an international scholastic society, with chapters in more than 900 two-year colleges, inducting more than 50,000 students annually.

The Phi Theta Kappa Society bases all programs on its four hallmarks: Scholastics, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. In addition to recognizing and promoting scholastic achievement, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) also provides members opportunities for leadership development; encourages members to conduct service projects for the benefit of the college and the community; and fosters an atmosphere conductive to scholarly fellowship.

The Chi Chi Chapter of PTK

The Chi Chi Chapter is involved in many fund raising activities to support PTK scholarships which are awarded to continuing and transferring UW-WC students. The Chapter also helps to host the Convocation Ceremony in May and has sponsored activities at UW-WC for honor society students from area high schools. Students can qualify to join the Chi Chi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa as a guest member or a regular member.
