Long Term and current Project- Raising money for a veterans
memorial, honoring those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice,
those that are still fighting, and those that came home. The
memorial cost $3,800 dollars and we have made about $1,600 since
April of 2010. There will be a raffle of donations by area business
in late fall to raise more funds. There will be numerous brat fry's
held in West Bend (one in Port Washington in August) throughout the
summer of 2010. Look for the signs! If interested in contributing
time for a brat fry, contact Ben Slane at slanb5788@students.uwc.edu .
If anyone is interested in contributing to the memorial, please send
all contributions to the campus:

Short term-
1. provide an environment to vets within the confines of the UWWC
campus in which we are all familiar with. Also, provide a place
that people with similar past histories may confide in each other
with understanding.
2. Advocate on behalf of veterans at all governmental levels
3. Work with other UWWC campus organizations in a common goal for
betterment of the community.
Also, starting this fall we will be working with an organization,
Guitars for Vets, by volunteering our organization to assist vets,
especially those with PTSD, in a reintegration process and providing
and outlet to those vets through the guitar and ultimately music.
This was a local org started at the The Clement J. Zablocki VA
Medical Center close by in Milwaukee and has expanded to nine
chapters throughout the US and Iraq. Being that we have combat vets
in or org we are always ready to assist those comrades that have
been wounded either emotionally or physically.
