Paul, Barb and Alyssa Wilke

A 1987 graduate of UW-WC, Paul went on to complete a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Marketing at UW-Whitewater. He is currently a Senior Marketing Representative at Federated Insurance Company and has been with the firm for 22 years. Active in the community, Paul served as President of the Sunrise Rotary Board in 2005/2006 and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow in 2006. He’s also served as a Cub Scout leader, coached Little League baseball and was as assistant coach for a Spartan Hoops basketball team.

Barb Wilke received her Associate degree from UW-WC in 1985. She’s also active in the community and has helped with the Meals on Wheels program for the past six years.

Daughter Alyssa completed her Associate degree from UW-WC this past spring and is now attending UW-LaCrosse, where she is planning to earn a double major in Elementary education and Special Education.

The family lives in West Bend and all three agree that UW-WC gave them their best start. Paul noted that “UW-WC had an environment that helped me develop strong study habits. It also gave full access to courses that easily transferred toward my degree at UW-Whitewater.” For Barb, who was “shy and not ready to venture far from home at 18,” the close proximity allowed her to “live at home and work while going to school.” Alyssa enjoyed “the small class sizes” which she found ideal and “let me get to know my professors.” Alyssa also noted that “the guaranteed transfer program assured my acceptance to UW-LaCrosse.”
