UW-Washington County (UW-WC) Lady Wildcats volleyball team ended their season with a first place finish in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference. The team went undefeated with a 5-0 record in the eastern division and 14– 0 overall record. Their final match was against UW-Baraboo on Wednesday, October 9 and they won with scores of 25, 8; 25, 16 and 25, 11. Other conference opponents included: UW-Fox Valley Valley, UW-Fond du Lac, UW-Marinette, UW-Sheboygan and UW-Manitowoc.
Team members include: Whitney Bastian, Kewaskum; Mallory Kougl, West Bend; Lizzy Geoffroy, Hartford; Brittany Swartwout, Port Washington; Brianna Rocheleau, West Bend; Amanad Lehnerz, West Bend; Marisa Moser, Germantown; Lindsay Griggs, West Bend and Kaity Murphy, Campbellsport. Coaches are Debbie Butschlick and Jason Stasinopoulos. The team travels to Wisconsin Dells this weekend to compete in the state volleyball tournament, with games scheduled on Saturday and Sunday.
UW-Washington County is located at 400 University Drive (off Hwy. 33 West) in West Bend. In addition to women’s volleyball, the campus participates in WCC competition in women’s basketball, men’s basketball, women’s tennis, men’s tennis, co-ed soccer and co-ed golf.
