UW-WC Plans Degree Information Night on Jan. 4

Seven Advisors from Four UW Campuses
12/19/11

UW-Washington County is offering an information session in early January for adults thinking of starting college as well as those who may have taken some classes and would now like to return to college and complete their bachelor degree.

Wednesday, January 4, 4-6pm. Degree Information Night at UW-Washington County campus, 400 University Drive, Room 101, West Bend.  Seven advisors from four UW campuses will be available to provide information and answer student questions. Campuses represented will include UW-Milwaukee, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville and UW-Washington County. Information about the Washington Express program will also be available.

Currently, nine bachelor degree programs are available at UW-WC including:

UW-Milwaukee: Communications, Information Resources, Nursing and Organizational Administration

UW-Oshkosh: Applied Studies; Liberal Studies with a Leadership Emphasis (accelerated evening program); Special and Elementary Education

UW-Platteville: Electrical and Mechanical Engineering

UW-Washington County: Students can complete freshman and sophomore level classes in over 200 majors at the West Bend campus, then complete one of the bachelor degree programs available or transfer during their junior year to a public or private institution. The WASHINGTON EXPRESS program, now available in Hartford and Grafton, offers accelerated evening classes, whereby students take one class at a time to complete their associate degree.

A local University of Wisconsin campus provides an affordable option for area students allowing them to live at home and save a substantial amount on room and board, food, parking and laundry fees, etc. The Guaranteed transfer program helps ensure that all credits transfer. The UW Colleges specialize in providing a strong foundation for students. Statistics have shown that students who begin their studies at a 2-year UW Colleges campus have higher graduation rates than those who begin their studies at a 4-year campus.
