Registration is underway for The University of Wisconsin - Washington County’s (UW-WC) Winterim session, which runs January 2 - 23. Winterim provides a great opportunity for students and community members to use three weeks of winter break to complete a course in an accelerated format. Most UW System campuses have winter breaks that correspond with this session, allowing area college students home on break to also pick up some extra credits.
Six Winterim classes will be offered including a new History of Rock & Roll course which will focus on the roots, origins and influential figures in the history of this cultural phenomenon.
The courses include: Introduction to Medical Anthropology (ANT 350); Foundations of Chemistry (CHE112); Introduction to Public Speaking (CTA 103); Introduction to Film (CTA 150); Theme in Literature: Ballroom Dancing (ENG 281); and History of Rock & Roll (MUS 278). All of the courses are 3 credits each and meet Monday through Friday, with the exception of Foundation of Chemistry, which is 2 credits and meets Monday through Thursday.
No classes are held on Monday, January 20, due to Martin Luther King holiday observance.
Complete course information is available on the campus website, www.washington.uwc.edu
Before registering for classes, new students must be accepted for admission. To apply, visit www.uwhelp.wisconsin.edu or pick up an application from the Student Services Office at 400 University Drive, West Bend. Tuition of $197.93 per credit is due January 2, 2014, which is also the last day to register. No advance deposit is required to register for a Winterim class.
