UW-Washington County will host a one-day workshop entitled “Enhancing Teaching and Learning Chemistry with Natural Bond Orbitals” on Monday August 27, 2012. Workshop organizers and speakers include the following chemistry professors: Dr. Frank Weinhold and Dr. Clark Landis (UW-Madison) and Dr. Mohamed Ayoub (UW-Washington County).
The workshop is free and open to high school chemistry and science teachers, advanced high school students, undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty and staff. Sessions include an introduction of natural bond orbitals (NBOs), tutorials, teaching examples and hands on exercises.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Funding for the workshop is made possible by a National Science Foundation Portals of Discovery Collaborative Research and Curricular Initiative grant.
