Two UW-WC Faculty Earn Promotion

Acting on recommendations from academic departments and the University of Wisconsin Colleges, Ray Cross, chancellor of the UW Colleges, has announced the promotions of Peter Gibeau and Jennifer Heinert. Cross made the announcement on behalf of the UW System Board of Regents after its June meeting. Gibeau advances from Associate Professor to Professor, while Heinert advances from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor with Tenure.  

Peter Gibeau joined the faculty at UW-Washington County in 1992. He received a Ph.D. in Music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His undergraduate work was completed at Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio, and his Master’s degree was received from the University of Arkansas. Prior to joining the faculty at UW-Washington County, Dr. Gibeau taught Music classes at UW-Madison, UW-Arkansas, and Phillips Academy in Andover, MA.   Gibeau also serves as the Director of the Moraine Chorus for UW-WC.  In 2007, Dr. Gibeau received the Rolfs Teacher of the Year Award. He resides in West Bend with his wife, Deanna and their daughter.

Jennifer Heinert completed her undergraduate as well as a master’s and doctorate degree in English at Marquette University. Dr. Heinert  joined the faculty at UW-WC in 2009. Her teaching experience began at UW-Rock County, where she began teaching English classes in 2006.  Her specialty is Modern and Contemporary American Literature, specifically Multicultural Literature. In addition to Literature classes, Heinert  teaches English Composition classes at UW-WC. Dr. Heinert’s publications include her book, Narrative Conventions and Race in the novels of Toni Morrison. Heinert and her family reside in Muskego.
