High school seniors as well as non-traditional age students are encouraged to apply now for scholarships at UW-Washington County. Scholarship applications for the 2014-15 academic year at UW-Washington County (UW-WC) will be accepted until February 14, 2014 for new as well as returning students. Scholarships recognize academic success and help provide financial support for students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and community involvement.
Four scholarship workshops are planned to help students complete the online application and answer questions. Iva Thelen, executive director of the Washington County Campus Foundation, will meet with students during the hour-long workshops, scheduled in computer lab, room #213 on the following dates:
- Wednesday, Nov. 27, noon – 1pm
- Tuesday, December 10, 5pm-6pm
- Wednesday, January 8, noon – 1pm
- Thursday, January 23, 5pm-6pm
Registration is required for the workshops as space is limited. To register, visit the campus website at washington.uwc.edu and click on scholarships, located under the “apply/pay/register” tab.
UW-WC has one of the strongest scholarship programs among the 13 campuses that comprise the UW-Colleges. Over $150,000 in scholarships were awarded to 96 students in 2013. The scholarships are funded through gifts from community members, foundations, alumni and area businesses and help provide a quality University of Wisconsin education more affordable and accessible.
