Commencement Information

Friday, May 23 - 7:00pm
UW-Washington County Gymnasium

Keynote Speaker: Dennis Degenhardt, President & CEO Glacier Hills Credit Union
Student Speaker:  Erik Hakes, President of Phi Theta Kappa

Musical Prelude: Washington County Youth Orchestra (6:30pm)
Recessional: Dr. Daniel Ackley

Associate Degree Candidates:
  • Arrive: between 6:15pm and 6:30pm

  • Check in: at table in main lobby (next to gym)

  • After checking in: please pick up your cap, gown, tassel and honor cords (if applicable). You will be lining up in the Rathskellar area (below cafeteria). Gowns are returned after the ceremony. There is no charge for graduation items.

Bachelor Degree Candidates:
  • Arrive: between 6:15pm and 6:30pm

  • Check in: at table in main lobby (next to gym)

  • After checking in: please line up in the Rathskellar area (below cafeteria). You need to arrange prior purchase of your cap, gown and tassel from the campus conferring your degree (UW-Milwaukee or UW-Oshkosh).

Scholarship Recipients:
  • Arrive: between 6:15pm and 6:30pm

  • Check in: at table in main lobby (next to gym)

  • After checking in: you will be directed to special seating in the gymnasium. Attire for scholarship recipients is business casual. No t-shirts, jeans or shorts, please. You will be called on stage to receive your scholarship. Please plan to to meet and thank your scholarship donor at the reception that immediately follows graduation (in the cafeteria).

Doors to the gymnasium will open at 6pm.
Chair and bleacher seating will be available.
No tickets are necessary and none will be distributed.
Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Please plan to stay for the entire ceremony out of courtesy to all graduates.

Flowers from the FLOWERSMITH in West Bend will be available for purchase in the main lobby.
Red rose and carnation bouquets will be available - reasonably priced from $3 to $7.50.

The Washington County Youth Orchestra will perform prior to ceremony.
The ceremony begins at 7pm and will last approximately an hour and 45 minutes.

All graduates and scholarship recipients (and their immediate families)
are invited to a reception in the cafeteria following the program.
Scholarship recipients are encouraged to meet with donors at that time.
