Emeritus
Status Policy
A. Members of the Department of History are eligible for recommendation to
Emeritus status upon nomination by a member of the department.
B. Criteria for Emeritus status policy.
1. Ten years service in the Department of History.
2. An overall record of distinguished service, and the expectation of continued contributions to the discipline of history and the University.
C. Benefits.
1. Participation in Department symposiums.
2. Participation in department meetings as a non-voting member.
3. Department assistance in obtaining grants from non-state funded sources.
D. Review of the candidates qualifications for Emeritus status will be conducted by
the Department of History Executive Committee and its recommendation will be
communicated to the appropriate campus Dean and the Vice Chancellor.
