Summer Youth Theatre

This three week course offers the participants an opportunity to experience some aspects of theatre and to produce and perform their own work.

Recommended for ages 6-12.

Dates: Monday, June 16th - Thursday, July 3rd. Performance on the evening of Wednesday, July 2nd.
Please note this is a Monday to Thursday course, no classes on Fridays.
Times: 8:30am-11:30am
Location: UW-Washington County
Cost: $89 for first child in family, subsequent children half price.

ACT Exam Preparation Courses:
Now available at 3 locations.

This 3 session course is designed to assist the student in preparing for the ACT assessment exams and is just in time for the spring testing date.  Areas to be covered include test-taking strategies, English, Reading, Optional Writing section, Math, Science as well as the opportunity to take a practice exam and receive the results in time to brush up before the spring exam date. All areas covered will include both content and test taking strategies. Students will receive a 532-page study guide. Saturday lunch will be provided. Please note: the practice exam is only optional at Hartford.

Washington County Children’s Choir
The choir is a wonderful opportunity for music literacy and choral techniques, which are incorporated within the scope of the weekly lessons. Late registrations will be accepted

  • Rehearsals Tuesdays, 4:00-5:00pm
  • Boys(unchanged voices) and girls ages 7-14

Placement Auditions: For new singers, placement auditions will occur. Call 262-335-5218 to reserve an audition time.

Washington County Youth Orchestra
The purpose of this program is to create a fun and exciting learning environment for middle and high school students that compliment their present involvement in the arts. This classical orchestra will include section coaches along with the director to provide a more in depth experience for the participants. The semester long program will culminate in a concert at UW-Washington County.

The orchestra will be under the direction of Dr. Daniel Ackley, a member of the music department at UW-WC where he has taught since 1994 and will be managed by Leanne Szafranski. Auditions are required and can be arranged by contacting Kim Schwamn at 262-335-5259.

Spring Musical Theatre Performance
Washing ton County Youth Theatre will be performing a musical as a culmination of their semester long youth theatre course.

Performance dates:   Friday, April 25th at 7:00pm
                                   Saturday, April 26th at 7:00pm
                                   Sunday, April 27th at 1:00pm
Tickets:  $5 adults, $3 (seniors over 62) and children (under12).
