ACT Exam Preparation Courses:
This 3
session course is designed to assist the student in preparing for
the ACT assessment exams and is just in time for the spring testing
date. Areas to be covered include test-taking strategies,
English, Reading, Optional Writing section, Math, Science as well as
the opportunity to take a practice exam and receive the results in
time to brush up before the spring exam date. All areas covered will
include both content and test taking strategies. Students will
receive a 532-page study guide. Saturday lunch will be provided.

There will be additional courses at Hartford Union High School
in March and May of 2010 and a course at Cedarburg High School in
May 2010.
Washington County Youth Orchestra
The purpose of the
program is create a fun and exciting learning environment for middle
and high school students that complement their present involvement
in the arts. This full classical orchestra will include section
coaches along with the director to provide a more in depth
experience for the participants. The year long program will
culminate in two concerts at UW-Washington County.
The orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Daniel Ackley, a member
of the Music Department at UW-WC, where he has taught since 1994.

Youth Theatre 'Hey kids, let's put on a show!"
This year’s semester long program for
youth theatre will be producing and performing “Alvin Fernald –Mayor
for a day” by Clifford B Hicks. Based on the series of Alvin Fernald
stories form the 1950s, this play offers everyone the opportunity to
be involved in and learn about all facets of a play’s production and
put those disciplines into practice to stage their own play. All
youth are needed for the show: directors, producers, set makers,
costumers, techies, actors and marketers. So bring your talents and
‘let’s put on a show!’
This course is open to all students age 10-17.
Instructor: John Sancomb, and guest instructors.

Performances: Friday, April 16 at 7pm, Saturday, April 17 at
7pm and Sunday April 18 at 2pm

Youth Money Smart College
Youth Money Smart College is a hands-on
activity based opportunity for 7th-9th grade students to experience
the world of money and the responsibilities associated with it.
Through a series of six sessions students will ‘earn’ a wage for
their given career and experience how this has to be used to pay
their bills, living expenses, saved for the future and spent for
their enjoyment!
A special session with guest speaker Ryan Gorman is available to
parents at 9:30 am and they are invited to return and join their
children at 3:30 for the closing session.
