UW-Washington County will present the Wisconsin Brass Quintet at 7:30pm on Friday, May 3 in the campus theatre. Founded in 1972, the Quintet is an ensemble-in-residence at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music. The nationally recognized quintet will perform a variety of brass chamber music.
Members of the quintet include: John Aley and Jessica Jenson (trumpet), Daniel Grabois (horn), Mark Hetzler (trombone) and John Stevens (tuba).
Barry Kilpatrick, writer for the American Record Guide, stated, “I’ve reviewed over 250 brass recordings in the past five years, and this is one of the very best. The WBQ is a remarkable ensemble that plays with more reckless abandon, warmth, stylistic variety, and interpretive interest than almost any quintet in memory.”
Tickets for Friday’s performance are $13 adults, $10 seniors (over 62) and youth (under 18). Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (262)-335-5208 or emailing WSH-Tickets@uwc.edu. Tickets will also be available at the door (while supplies last) or from the main office during normal business hours. The University is located at 400 University Drive in West Bend. The theatre is located on the second floor of the campus. Free parking is available. For more information, visit the campus website at washington.uwc.edu.
