A new mathematics professor and associate librarian will greet UW-Washington County students when the fall semester begins on Tuesday, September 6.
Dr. Deepak Basyal is the new faculty in the Mathematics Department, transferring from the UW-Marinette campus. A native of Nepal, Basyal earned a M.A. in Mathematics at Tribhuvan University in Nepal. After teaching for four years, he moved to the U.S., and completed both a M.S. and Ph.D. in Mathematics at New Mexico State University, where he also served as a teaching assistant for six years. Basyal will be teaching College Algebra, Trigonometry and several Calculus classes.
Rebecca Dougherty joined the UW-WC Learning Commons staff as the new Associate Academic Librarian. Dougherty completed a MA in Library and Information Science from UW-Madison, with a BA in Film Studies from UW-Milwaukee. Her focus will be on library instruction. Rebecca has over 15 years of library experience in academic libraries, public libraries and library consortia.
