Veterans Day

The Student Veterans of America Club at UW-Washington County (UW-WC) are commemorating Veterans Day on Friday, November 11, with a ceremony that begins at noon in the campus theatre. All area veterans and their families as well as the general public are welcome to attend. No reservations are needed.

According to Jacob Kachellek, President of the Student Veterans of America Club, the 40 minute presentation will include colors, provided by the local VFW. The keynote speaker is Kurt Rusch, Veterans Service Officer for Washington County. A Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Kurt has served at the Washington County Veterans Service Office for the past year. With a passion for serving his fellow Veterans, Kurt “cannot think of a better population to serve than my fellow vets.”  He earned a Bachelor degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from UW-Milwaukee. He has held positions in the public and private sector as a program manager, fundraising manager and VP of sales. Kurt lives in Grafton, WI with his wife and four children.

The Veteran’s club plans to serve lunch and refreshments (while supplies last) following the ceremony.
