UW-WC’s Dean David Nixon to resign

Accepting position at Mount Mary College

Dr. David Nixon, Dean and CEO of UW-Washington County in West Bend announced that he will be leaving the campus effective July 1. Dr. Nixon has accepted a position as Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee.

Dr. Nixon began his employment with the campus in June, 2005. During his tenure, the campus made significant strides in enrollment as well as baccalaureate offerings. In addition, the third floor of the Collins Science wing was completed.  Prior to his position at UW-Washington County, Nixon served as an Associate Professor and Department Head (Political Science) at Oklahoma State University. Nixon stated that he “is grateful for the time at UW-Washington County, working with wonderful staff, faculty and students.” Nixon has taken an active lead in the community, serving on the West Bend as well as Washington County Economic Development Committees, and a member of the noon Rotary. Nixon, and his wife Sydney, plan to remain living in the West Bend area.

It is expected that UW Colleges Chancellor David Wilson will soon announce the appointment of an interim dean as well as the timing of the replacement dean search process.
