UW-WC announces Winterim Session

Classes run January 4 to 21
11/1/10

Registration is underway for The University of Wisconsin - Washington County’s (UW-WC) Winterim session, which runs January 4-21. Winterim provides a great opportunity for students (as well as others in the community) to use 13 days of winter break to complete a course in an accelerated format.  Most UW System campuses have winter breaks that correspond with this session, allowing area college students home on break to also pick up some extra credits.

The six Winterim courses include:  Medical Anthropology (ANT 350); Foundations of Chemistry (CHE 112); Introduction to Public Speaking (CTA 103); Trigonometry (MAT 113); Introductory Psychology (PSY 202); and Study of Religion (REL 101).  All courses are three credits each and meet Monday through Friday - with the exception of Foundations of Chemistry and Trigonometry which are 2 credits each and meet Monday through Thursday.  There are no classes on Monday, January 17 (Martin Luther King) holiday.

Before registering for classes, students must be accepted for admission. To apply, visit www.uwhelp.wisconsin.edu or pick up an application from the Student Services Office at 400 University Drive, West Bend. Tuition of $177.83 per credit is due January 4, which is also the last day to register. No advance deposit is required to register, however a fee of $100 is charged for any withdrawals after December 21, 2010.

Spring semester begins January 24 and the course schedule is now available in print as well as online (washington.uwc.edu).  Advisors are available to discuss course selection, registration and other academic needs. For more information, contact the Student Services Office at (262)-335-5201
