Motown Greats, a choir from Berlin, Germany, and John Cowan & Band (former member of the Doobie Brothers) are three of the six visiting artists that make up the Friday Night Features that will be performing at UW-Washington County this school year. The Fine Arts Series also includes a fall musical production (The Spitfire Grill) and spring theatre production (Brendan), both produced and directed by Professor Brad Ford. The series also includes: Montana Skies (on guitar and cello); The Karkowska Sisters Duo (from Poland) and UW-Madison’s Pro-Arte String Quartet.
Ticket prices remain very affordable at $12 for adults, $9 for seniors (over 62) and $9 for youth (under 18). Admission for UW-WC students is free, with campus ID. All evening performances begin at 7:30pm in the campus theatre (located on the second floor of the college at 400 University Drive in West Bend). Free parking is available in the student lot.
Season tickets include all six Friday Night Features as well as the two theatre productions and are available at a savings of 25% ($72 adults, $54 seniors (over 62) and youth (under 18). You can also “pick four” different shows and save 15% ($40 adults, $30 seniors and youth). All shows begin at 7:30pm except for the Sunday afternoon theatrical performances, which begin at 1:30pm. This dynamic husband/wife duo, Jonathan and Jennifer Adams wowed our stage in 2006 with their tremendous energy and sound on the guitar and cello. Award winning musicians, they delve into music from Bach to House of the Rising Sun and Pink Floyd.
- Berliner Cappella Choir
Friday, October 30
Traveling to our stage from Berlin, Germany, this choir is 70 members strong. Directed by conductor, Kerstin Behnke, it performs a variety of music in both German and English. Pre-concert music will be provided by The Moraine Chorus.

Friday, December 4
Bluegrass, Newgrass, Gospelgrass, Rock N’Rollgrass… John Cowan rose to fame as the lead singer for the New Grass Revival. Later in joined the Doobie Brothers. Today, he and his band are true innovators with loads of talent.

These talented sistersfrom Poland perform on the violin and piano. While you are enjoying their great music, they tell fantastic stories. They have toured throughout North America and Europe to rave reviews and standing ovations.

Enjoy a magical evening of Motown Greats – from Stevie Wonder to Aretha Franklin – as Chris Cauley and Chinau Hawk showcase classic hits from the 60s. They’ll take you on a musical journey of the past, while discussing the influence these artists had on their own work. Evening ends with high energy jam.

UW-Madison’s faculty ensemble, the ProArte Quartet tours around the country. They perform an exciting blend of both new and old repertoire.

A musical written by James Valcq and Fred Alley, that tells the inspirational story of Percy Talbott, who makes her home in rural Wisconsin after being released from prison. She starts working at the ramshackle Spitfire Grill amid a swirl of local gossip. Slowly through a series of events, the town comes to trust and love her.

A funny and lively story about Brendan, a young Irish immigrant who arrives in Boston. As he works to find meaning in his new life, he works hard to adapt and misses his family terribly. After receiving a letter from home, his life turns upside down as the ghost of his mother starts following him around.
