Search Committee Named to Seek Next UW-Washington County Leader

New Campus Executive Officer and Dean to be chosen by May

Marv Van Kekerix, the interim chancellor of the University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin-Extension, today formally launched a search advisory committee to recommend a new campus executive officer and dean for UW-Washington County.

Paul Price currently serves as interim CEO/dean.  He replaced David Nixon who left in May 2010 to become Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee.

Advertising for the position will start in January.  Finalists will interview on campus in April and a final selection will be made before the end of the spring semester in May 2011.  The appointment is subject to approval by the UW System Board of Regents.

The committee will be chaired by Joshua Lesniak, Associate Professor, Art.  The other committee members are: Tammy Becker, Information Technology; Bob Ebert; student; Becky Guelig, custodian; Paula Langteau, CEO/dean, UW-Marinette; Kandi O’Neal, Professor, Washington County Cooperative Extension, UW-Extension; Kirk Tyvela, Assistant Professor, History; Ray Werhand, Board of Visitors, UW Colleges and UW-Extension; Anne Widmayer, Associate Professor, English.

UW-Washington County is a campus of the University of Wisconsin Colleges, which is composed of 13 local campuses and one online campus, University of Wisconsin Colleges Online that offer an associate degree in arts and science and prepare students of all ages and backgrounds for baccalaureate and professional programs.  UW-Washington County enrolled a record 1,118 students in the fall semester of 2010.
