Ray Cross, the Chancellor of University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin-Extension, today named Alan Paul Price as his choice for campus executive officer/dean at UW-Washington County, subject to UW System Board of Regents confirmation.
Price has served as the interim CEO/dean since spring 2010. He has been an associate professor at UW-Washington County since 2004 and has taught at various UW Colleges campuses since 1996, including UW-Washington County, UW-Manitowoc and UW-Fond du Lac. He has also taught at UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, Santa Monica College, UCLA, and Texas Tech University. Price earned his doctorate in Geography at the University of California, Los Angeles, and both his master's and bachelor's degrees in Geology at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
The UW System Board of Regents will vote on the appointment at its June 9 and 10 meeting. If he is confirmed, he will succeed David Nixon who left in May 2010. He will take office immediately upon confirmation.
UW-Washington County is part of the University of Wisconsin Colleges, the UW System’s network of 13 freshman/sophomore campuses and UW Colleges Online that offers an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree and prepares students of all ages and backgrounds for baccalaureate and professional programs. The CEO /dean is the chief operating officer and chief academic officer of the campus.
