Interim Dean Announced at UW-WC

Dr. Alan Paul Price to lead campus

UW Colleges Chancellor David Wilson has announced the appointment of Alan Paul Price, Ph.D., as interim campus executive officer and dean at UW-Washington County, effective July 1.  Professor Price has been a faculty member at UW-Washington County since 1998 and has led the UW Colleges Senate for two terms since 2008.  In the announcement, Dr. Wilson noted that during this time he has been “enormously impressed with the steady leadership Price has provided.”

Professor Price earned his doctorate in geography at the University of California, Los Angeles, and both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in geology at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.  He has taught at various UW Colleges campuses since 1996, including UW-Washington County, UW-Manitowoc, and UW-Fond du Lac.  He has also taught at UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, Santa Monica College, UCLA, and Texas Tech University.  Price stated, “I look forward to working with the campus and community and feel confident that we will continue to build on the improvements Dean Nixon made in accessibility and programming.”   

Current dean, Dr. David Nixon who is leaving for a new position as Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, stated that “Price’s appointment places the campus in very good hands.”
