Chapter 6, a professional a cappella ensemble with six talented vocalists, will be performing at UW-Washington County on Friday, December 3 at 7:30pm in the campus theatre.
Emerging from a college course, Chapter 6 became the premier a cappella ensemble at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois before winning its first competition in 2000. They entered the professional market in 2002 and have since traveled across the United State, Canada and Asia, winning numerous awards along the way. They are the only vocal ensemble to win both the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella and the prestigious National Harmony Sweepstakes.
Chapter 6 members include: Chuck Bosworth, Jarrett Johnson, Luke Menard, John Musick, A.D. Stonecipher, Nathan Pufall and Mark Grizzard (arranger). Most of the members were music majors at Millikin and now feel fortunate to make a living traveling the country singing a cappella with their college buddies. The group performs in a wide variety of family friendly shows featuring a light hearted energy blend of pop/jazz harmonies with repertoire ranging from Gershwin to Stevie Wonder, as well as original songs. Luke Menard, who sings tenor for the group, has also pursued solo opportunities and finished in the top 8 on “American Idol: Season 7.” Menard has been featured on “E! Entertainment” and “Extra.”
Tickets for this concert are $12 for adults, and $9 for seniors (over 62) or youth (under 18). Free parking is available in the student lot. Reservations are suggested and can be made by phoning the campus at (262) 335-5208 during normal business hours (Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm).
