Jon Etta, Building and Grounds Superintendent at UW-Washington County in West Bend, has been selected as a recipient of a 2014 University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin-Extension Chancellor’s Award. The Award for Excellence recognizes outstanding performance and contributions by classified staff, academic staff and faculty (individuals or teams/groups) in UW Colleges, UW-Extension and other UW institutions who are involved in programs budgeted with UW Colleges and/or UW-Extension funds.
Etta was nominated by Christi Larson, Custodial Services Supervisor for the campus, and with letters of recommendation submitted by Dan Anhalt, Assistant Dean and Dr. Paul Price, Dean. According to Anhalt, “Jon looks at issues from the perspective of others and not just his own – whether he is on the roof at 3am in January working aging HVAC equipment to ensure that classrooms are warm or helping develop a master facilities plan.” Etta, who joined the staff in 2007, lives in Kewaskum with his wife, Julie and family.
Also selected for a Chancellor’s award was Dr. Jennifer Heinert, Associate Professor of English and VTLC Director for her committee work on the UW Colleges English Department Composition Committee. Heinert was one of five on the committee to receive the award. Both Etta and Heinert will receive the awards at a special presentation on Thursday, September 18 at the Pyle Center in Madison.
UW-WC is located at 400 University Drive in West Bend. Over 950 students attend the campus.
