UW-Washington County’s (UW-WC) Theatre Professor, Brad Ford recently announced his retirement – effective at the end of the spring semester.
Employed by the West Bend campus since 1982, Ford has directed over 60 Theatre on the Hill productions during his tenure. In addition, Ford also led many students and community groups on a summer theatre tour to London for more than 25 years. On campus, Ford also taught a variety of Communication and Theatre Arts courses, including public speaking, mass communication, introduction to theatre, and theatre laboratory (providing hands-on knowledge in stage design, set building, lighting and stage management). Ford expresses his “deepest gratitude, to my students, colleagues, actors, technicians and the community for all the support over the last 31 years.”
Other changes in staffing include the transfer of Dr. Daniel Ackley to UW-Manitowoc. A lecturer in UW-WC’s music department since 1994, Ackley will begin a tenure track position with UW-Manitowoc's music department in the fall. In addition to teaching several music and band classes, Ackley directed the Moraine Symphonic Band as well as the Washington County Youth Orchestra.
