Band Concerts Planned at UW-WC

Sunday, April 29, 3pm

UW-Washington County’s Washington County Youth Orchestra (WCYO) and Moraine Symphonic Band (MSB) will perform a spring concert on Sunday, April 29, at 3:00pm in the UW-WC theatre. Both bands are under the musical direction of Dr. Daniel Ackley, with Cherie Hart serving as manager.

The WCYO will perform two compositions, Carmen Suite No. 1 and No. 2 by Georges Bizet.

WCYO members include: Angela Yang and Jacalyn Schubring (flute); Kathy Parsons and Krista Lyman (oboe); Amanda Forshee and Cailey Malnarick (clarinet); Carissa Conine (bass clarinet); Alyssa Gramberg and Anna Henning (french horn); Alexa Bechler and Tom Bietch (trumpet); Jared Bechler and Joel Komurka (trombone); Ben Hohl (tuba); Justin Grahl (timpani); Jamie Matter (percussion); Kirill Polyanskiy , Fedor Polyanskiy, and Kim Kitzerow (violin 1); Emalee Klockow and Allison Wray (violin 2); Justine Keller and Andrew Helman (viola); James Talkington, Rachelle Wild, Ellie Jordan, Alie Khadem (violoncello); and Alex Hornung (contrabass).

Following a short intermission, the Moraine Symphonic Band will perform four pieces, including: Festive Overture, Op. 96 by Dmitri Shostakovich; The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Paul Dukas; Grand Sernade by PDQ Bach; and Finlandia by Jean Sibelius.

MSB members include: Brenda Halverson, Monica Faber and Karen Meinert (piccolo/flute); Lynette Garbisch, Jacalyn Schubring and Brenda Hofschulte (flute); Roxanne Pieper and Krista Lyman (oboe); Andrew Wahl, Courtney Summ, Carrie Skibinski, Dan Gerard, Richard Gerard, Terry Fojitik and Melissa Worden (clarinet); Haley Trier (Bass Clarinet); Craig Johnson, Cheryl Simchick, Daniel Doyle and Melissa Wagner (alto saxophone); Matthew Pea and Larry Lange (tenor saxophone); Steve Johnson (baritone saxophone); Alyssa Gramberg, Bart Fotjik and Dan Ratzburg (French horn); Scott Kandel, Deb Schleif, and Clayton Frounfelker III (trumpet); Nicholas Faber, Jared Bechler, Andrew Doyle, Amanda Kinnunen and Brian Link (trombone); Heather Beilke, Christopher Wahl (euphonium); Tom Beineke and Darrel Nonhof (tuba); Angela Yang (piano); Susan Klein (timpani) Eric Stein and Aaron Hetzel (percussion).

UW-Washington County is located at 400 University Drive (off Hwy. 33 West) in West Bend. The theatre is on the second floor of the campus.
