Love in Naples

UW-Washington County (UW-WC) will be holding auditions for the spring production of Love in Naples on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 beginning at 6:00pm in the campus theatre. Rick Ponzio, Theatre Director at UW-WC wrote the slap-stick comedy set in Late Renaissance, Naples and will also be directing the production. The cast includes six actors with flexible ages. Area residents, ages 18 and up, as well as UW-WC students are strongly encouraged to audition. Backstage and technical crew volunteers are also needed.

Volunteers are also needed for the stage and costume crews. Work includes set building, staging, technical work, costumes and make-up. Volunteers are also needed for ushering and poster distribution. College credit can be earned for performing or doing behind-the-scenes work for the show.

Candidates for audition do not need to bring prepared material. Everyone will be given numerous opportunities to audition for a variety of roles. Candidates are asked to bring a photo (any size), acting resume (if available) and wear comfortable clothing and shoes that allow free movement.

The main characters include two lovers, Leandro and Beatrice; their parents, Pantalone and Dottore; and their servants, Truffaldina and Francischino. Three performances of Love in Naples are planned for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, March 9-11 at 7:30pm. All performances will be in the campus theatre, located on the second floor of the campus.
