Adult Students
At UW-Washington County, about 25% of our students are returning adults (age 22 or older). That means you’ll benefit from services designed with the adult student in mind and have other students to relate to.
It also means you’ll fit right in. Adults begin their college education or return to college for many different reasons.
Some of these reasons include:
- To improve employment opportunities
- To earn a degree
- To learn new skills
- To pursue areas of special interest
- To challenge their minds
Online and Evening Classes
To help juggle your busy schedule, day, evening and on-line courses are available. It's possible to earn an associate’s degree by taking all evening courses. To determine what classes are available in late afternoon and evening, you can search the course listing by late afternoon and evening classes (see search feature on right side). You can also complete your bachelor degree through an accelerated evening program with UW-Oshkosh.
NEW EXPRESS DEGREE PROGRAM!
An accelerated (3 to 8-week sessions) evening program is now available in Hartford to complete your associate degree. Classes meet two evenings each week. Contact Kim Schwamn in Student Services for more information on the Washington Express degree program or click here.

- Official high school transcripts and/or official copy of your HSED/GED scores (if applicable) and official transcripts of any university or technical college coursework completed while in high school.

Join Non-Trads on Campus
Non Trads on Campus is an organization for students of non-traditional age. Students formed this fraternity to promote friendship, support, fun and fellowship. Members share similar interests, challenges and successes. Non-Trads also sponsors a scholarship each year for students who are of non-traditional age. Prospective students of non-traditional age who would like to meet with current students are welcome to attend their noon meetings. You'll learn about financial commitments, how to balance school, work and family responsibilities & more. Contact Laurie Kuehn in Student Services for more information about upcoming meetings. .
