Online Planning Guide

UW-WC advisor Chris Beloin meets with a student.Academic Planning
Advising is an ongoing process. Use these academic planning tools as you begin and move along in your educational journey.

A key to success as a college student is to know where you are going and how to get there. Develop a plan now to reach your goal of obtaining a college degree.

Use this checklist to assist you in formulating your plan:

  1. How much time each week will I need to spend outside of classes for my scheduled classes? (A credit generally represents one hour of class work per week during the semester. For each hour of class time, estimate three hours of outside class time. Number of credits ____x 3 = _____)

  2. How many hours each week am I planning to spend on a job or other responsibilities? Use the chart below for decision making on how many hours to work with expected course load. A key to success as a college student is allowing enough time to devote to your course work. _________________
