Education Majors
Are you interested in being a teacher?
If you are interested in an education major, you can begin or continue your university studies at UW-Washington County. Teaching is a people-oriented field. During the first two years of an education degree, students take course work in social sciences, English, mathematics, humanities, natural sciences and public speaking. When making your choice of an education degree, an important factor to consider is the age level of the students with whom you desire to work. Educators work with students of all ages, from very young children to adults.
There are specialized fields within the field of education that you may find rewarding. These areas include: Adaptive Education, Art Education, or Music Education. The requirements for each bachelor’s degree in Education begin with the two-year suggested course sequences below. This curriculum includes core skills courses leading to a fundamental understanding of teaching functions and to analytic ability for solving school and educational problems.
