The Washington Plan for Engineering Majors

Click here for the Washington Plan for Engineering Majors (pdf file). This four-semester program guide will help you plan your freshmen and sophomore years at UW-WC.

UW-Washington County's natural science and liberal arts curriculum provides you with the knowledge and skills you will need to successfully complete a bachelor’s degree engineering program, to succeed in the engineering profession, and to compete successfully in a global environment. Our small class sizes and experienced faculty will help you get the best start you need to succeed. The curriculum includes basic courses in the natural sciences, mathematics, humanities and social studies leading to a fundamental understanding of engineering profession functions and analytical ability for solving engineering problems.

Field Experiences & Internships

Engineering related course work at UW-Washington County offers you hands on experiences for which you earn academic credit. Hands on experiences, available in MAT 221, 222, & 223, "Calculus and Analytic Geometry" sequence, CHE 145 & 155, "General Chemistry," PHY 201 & 202, General Physics, and MEC 201, 202 & 203, Statics, Dynamics and Strength of Materials classes provide you with opportunities for observations and participation not ordinarily available in the classroom. In these courses, you can expect to experience actual engineering and applied technology problems, which will enable you to apply mathematical and scientific theory to real world, practical projects. Your course work and projects are supervised by professional faculty members who evaluate the importance and significance of your experiences.

Scholarship Opportunities

Outstanding students deserve recognition and are given support and the opportunity to develop their interests, skills and talents. To this end, UW-WC, through generous benefactor donations, is able to annually award over $130,000 in scholarships to qualified new, continuing and transferring students on the basis of academic excellence, leadership, community service, and financial need.
