Information Resources (BSIR)
The cutting-edge Bachelor of Science in Information Resources
(BSIR) degree provides students with a quality interdisciplinary
education while preparing them to effectively use information resources and technology.
Students entering the field of information technology will develop
an array of skills related to:
Information storage &
retrieval (from the
web, databases, CDROM, DVD and print resources)
Internet applications
(using multimedia and other emerging
technology tools)
Technical jargon - making information accessible and relevant to clients
Information architecture
Training (knowing how to
demonstrate, analyze and synthesize computer software)
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Information
Resources has developed a collaborative degree program with the
UW-Colleges that enables students to complete a fully accredited
UW-Milwaukee Bachelor of Science degree in Information Resources
while completing requirements for UW-WC's Associate Degree of Science
Degree at the same time. The second half of this degree is completed
online.
