The only way that women are mediators is the fact that we don't take immediate, violent action. These stories show us though that at times we can be just as violent and cruel as men. We just have different ways of getting what we want. Back then women were just used for bartering tools for men to get what they wanted. For example, the family is destitute and you're the oldest daughter, you have to marry someone who offered the most money for you whether you loved them or not. These just show you that women can fight back when provoked.
