flawed heroes

I like the fact that the heroes have some flaw to their character. It makes them seem more real to life. Everyone isn't perfect, so why should heroes be that way too. Sir Gawain, for example, has "chinks" in his armor. He's not perfect, he falls for one of the cheapest tricks. Life is precious for him, but honor should be more so. He is lead astray because he wants to live, not present his honesty and honor to someone. Trickery leads him to take something he should not for the pure sake of selfishness.
