Everything we've read is in some way a morality tale. The Christian influences are apparent. The theme of Chivalry is dominant in Morte Darthur and Sir Gawain, but disappears in what we've read of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. The "wicked woman" archetype seems to come up in Chaucer's Wife of Bath. Which is the main similarity found in all the texts. Another major archetype is the person failing to hold true to his belief systems. For Sir Gawain he isn't able to retain all chivalric beliefs. The Pardoner is a huge sinner, and revels in his debauchery.
