About     
This is Netra’s first year as an assistant professor of Mathematics at UW-WC. He received his PhD from Oklahoma State University in July 2009. His research interests are in the field of partial differential equations. He is also interested in ODE, Numerical Analysis, Application of Mathematics in Business, Finance and Economics, and Mathematical Modeling. Netra has completed three papers. His first paper on the Kawahara equation was published in NONLINEARITY on July, 2008. His second paper is accepted and third paper is submitted for publication. Netra also has presented talks in different meetings and conferences.

Before arriving in Wisconsin, Netra taught a wide range of undergraduate courses at OSU and at different colleges and universities in Nepal. Based on student evaluation, he earned an outstanding teaching award at OSU.

Netra believes that teachers should play a role of encouraging students and nurturing their curiosity to make them think critically and organizes his teaching accordingly. He is also a co-advisor of Phi Theta Kappa.
