MUS170 Lec 01
11:00 - 11:50 a.m. MWF
Fall Semester, 2007
Description
Fundamentals of Music is an introduction to music course that has a Service Learning component to it. Through lectures, rehearsals, conducting, and performance, you will begin to understand music in its notation and performing environments. You will get to know the piano, the recorder, percussion instruments, your voice (yes, your voice), and other instruments quite well. We will also listen to some examples of music when necessary. Rehearsing music requires you to know how to stand up in front of a group and lead them. You will therefore learn how to conduct, too. The service learning components will be a Kindergarten concert at the end of the semester, followed by a class discussion of the Kindergarten concert.
