Daniel Ackley has earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Composition and Conducting from the University of Wisconsin Madison. He earned his Masters in Music at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His mentors in Madison were James Smith and Beverly Taylor. At Milwaukee, he studied under Thomas Dvorak and Marjorie Deutsch.
