Assessment:

 

A UW Colleges-wide assessment program has been put into place to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the curriculum, programs and services of the institution.  As part of this assessment program, students in this class will be assessed on aesthetic recognition skills, specifically, the ability to write a descriptive paragraph, after listening to a piece of music, describing musical and creative aspects of the piece.  In addition, students in this course will be assessed on the ability to engage with a creative work, which the department has deemed vital to all students taking a course in music.  This assessment exercise is NOT part of your grade.  However, the results will be recorded for posterity.
